Be YOU!

Yesterday was a pretty crazy day. From shooting a wedding to working a barmitvah. The switch in vibes was enough to make your head spin. But truth be told, I loved every minute.

When I just started fallin' in love with photography, my amazing family friend, more like a sister to me, took me under her wing and became my mentor. Everything I've learned about weddings I owe to Randi. Randi owns a photography company called Reflective Souls Photography. Weddings, Maternity and babies are her specialties. I still photograph weddings with her to this day and I love working with her. Nothing compares to looking at her down the end of the aisle, in the middle of a wedding ceremony and having full conversations with no words. It is a real sight to see my friends!

When Randi asked me to photograph Jim and Heather's wedding, because she had a double booking, I decided to accept. Although, I was bummed we wouldn't be working together and I would miss our telepathic convos and comforting pep talks when things get crazy.

I'm going to be transparent with you and just put it out there, I ALWAYS get nervous before I shoot weddings. I don't know what it is. Maybe its God's way of letting me sympathize with the bride and her pre- wedding jitters ;) But I'm thankful for those nerves, because it reminds of the seriousness of a weddings aka someones BEST DAY OF THEIR LIFE!!! ya have some sympathy on me now huh? :)

In retrospect everything went great, exactly how it always does. I  really learned today that confidence is key. In whatever you do really! and be YOURSELF! I've learned about myself recently that sometimes when I'm on a job I get so caught up in the "professionalism" that I forget to let my personality shine through. That is something I learned from the amazing Jasmine Star at the WPPI convention. So friends my encouragement to you today is even when your at your job don't forget to not just be amazing at your job, but be YOU! :)

Here is a sneak peek of the adorable bridesmaids from Jim and Heather's wedding! :)
